Polarity

Spiritual Polarity

I want to talk on the concept of polarity in spirituality. Before we go into the depths of spiritual polarity, we have to talk about how light itself works first. Imagining electrodynamics might help in this process.

First there is one concept we have to reverse in your brain. Many associate light with oneness and void with separation. In many esoteric ways, this is true, but light itself is actually polarized. Void actually has no polarity because there is nothing there to have polarity, it is simply void. Light has a positive and negative aspect to it. Lightwaves are always polarized. Even wavelengths which they may consider to be “unpolarized light” still have polarizations, but to an extent which is insignificant to measure. If you want to dig deeper into the scientific aspect of it, read on polarization of light here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polarization_(waves)

Even a look back to Genesis makes an interesting point of the creation pattern. In the beginning there was Void, then Light was created. Light was the second step of creation. Geometrically, this creates the Vesica Pisces geometry, an important geometry to observe light spirals. Without coincidence, that is why eyes are evolved to look like the center

Now light carries this polarity most of the time. Perhaps imagining it as electricity will be easier. The negative terminal draws energy and is “attractive.” The positive terminal emits energy and is “radiant.” They are both required to create a stable current. Your ability to use negative energy is your ability to gather energy and draw it towards you. Your ability to use positive energy is your ability to radiate that energy and send it outward. Both are necessary because you can’t send energy out if you have no where to ground from, and you can’t gather energy efficiently if there is no where to circulate it back out.

We are not much different from this magnet itself. The primary source of our electromagnetic field is our heart. Our mind has one too, but it is much more subtle in strength (thus more prone to quantum influences, but that can be elaborated another time).

So what does your heart strive more to do? Does it strive to attain? Or does it strive to give? This is the core of polarity in itself because our thoughts and actions begin to alter our field. Polarity ends up being the ability to do work in terms of physics. A neutral charge does nothing, but a strong positive or negative charge can completely alter a system in physics. The more polarity is developed, the more work may be done in an esoteric sense. Polarity is what gives strength to perform abilities such as telepathy, astral projection, healing (self or otherself), and various other forms of energy work.

What is the criteria for full polarization for 4th density? According to Law of One, they say that the axis is service to others vs. service to self. Polarity is gained or lost from our thoughts, feelings, and actions relative to other people. Every single social interaction is an opportunity to gain or lose polarity in terms of these karmic bonds. Every single exchange is a precious opportunity for love if we choose to see it as such.

The criteria for positive polarization is reaching at least 51% service to others. This makes sense, because the field has become more positive than negative in net polarity. It is still difficult because the more that we give, the more that we are left feeling weak and drained if it isn’t reciprocated. This is why positive polarity works best in groups because they all build off each other creating a stronger and stronger symbiosis through unity. The primary focus is love in positive polarization, giving freely and unconditionally.

Negative polarization, is much more difficult and complex. The criteria is 95% service to self. This is because the field must be reversed to flow backwards. It is an attempt to pierce the infinite through the opposite pole. This path requires an enormous amount of stamina to complete because they are constantly going against the grain of everything to bend everything to their will. This path seeks to control others instead of love others. They resort to more heinous ways of interaction such as deceiving others or even killing to get their way. In terms of chakras, they skip the heart chakra and the crown is generally muddied.

End of sixth density transitioning into seven, polarity is discarded to merge into a higher stage of Unity. For the positive path, this is easy since concepts like love, surrender, and acceptance were long ago established. For the negative path, this is very difficult because the entire path until this point was fought for their own sense of self empowerment.

Polarity becomes important after the physical incarnation because it affects the nature of how one interacts and exists in the spirit realm. I can’t speak with much certainty about this because I’m still here and alive. However, www.lawofone.info has much more elaboration on densities, polarities, and all of that matter.

To get down to the real teaching in all of this, is simply giving the advice to love others. Love openly without fear. Fear is rooted in the illusion that we have something to lose by loving openly. One candle can light a thousand others though, remember that. Love is the springboard into the infinite. It’s hard to be completely selfless, but a jug fills drop by drop. Ask yourself each day what you can do to make someone else’s day better. A friend, family member, or even a stranger… There are multitudes of opportunities every day to give love and do something that brings joy to others.

Beginner Meditation Tips

I seem to get lots of questions on Twitter about the basics of meditation so I thought I’d make an entry covering a lot of common questions and concerns about meditation. Meditation at its core, is about simplicity so try not to overcomplicate it even though I may give many different perspectives and meditations in the passage to follow. Try things out and see what works for you.

The Basics

At its most basic form, meditation is simply closing your eyes, sitting with a straight back, and focusing on your breath. That’s it. Let your mind and body relax and simply focus on your breath. If your thoughts wander, simply bring your attention back to your breath.

Posture

The most imperative part of posture is a straight back. Any slouching causes stagnance of energy flow. Traditionally, the posture is Full Lotus, which is having the legs crossed over each opposing thigh. If this is uncomfortable for you, then don’t do it. Comfort is also important to the process of meditation. Half Lotus is resting only one foot on top of the opposing thigh and is much less strenuous. You can also just sit classical “Indian style” as well. If you have a weak back, then you may lean against something to keep it straight. Sitting up straight ensures you don’t fall asleep during a meditation. You may also lay down to meditate, but be aware you will sleep into deeper wavelengths of the mind and you’re very likely to fall asleep if you haven’t trained the will to focus on staying awake. One work around for this is laying in a position where you know it is nearly impossible for you to fall asleep in. Keep in mind though, the straight back is paramount, no matter which posture you choose. Don’t strain to keep an overtly rigid posture, just a relaxed, upright posture with no slouching.

In terms of fidgeting, if you’re uncomfortable and its beginning to fill your mind, just go ahead and shift into a more comfortable position. Generally, as a meditation progresses, you’ll not need to shift as much and will settle into a comfortable posture. The tongue is best touching the roof of the mouth so that saliva doesn’t gather excessively becoming a distraction as well.

Observe everything

When you first begin meditation, it is best to simply OBSERVE everything. Don’t alter your breath, but observe your natural breath. Don’t alter your thoughts, but simply observe your thoughts. The trick is to not let your mind get too swept away by a string of thoughts. Let the thoughts arise, then let them go. The breath will always be the anchor of your focus and a point to return to. It is ok if you get caught in a long string of thoughts because it shows that you found those thoughts interesting. Observe that and return to focusing on breath. By observing ourselves in a detached manner, we take ourselves out of the driver’s seat of our thoughts and into the passenger seat so we can analyze them from a 3rd person point of view.

Breath

The purpose of focusing on breath, according to yoga, is to raise prana levels. Breath is our primary source of gathering prana and it is available at all times. By being more mindful of breath we revitalize our mind and our body. Also, the other purpose of focusing on breath is because breath is the bridge between mind and body. The reason we focus on breath is because if the mind shifts or the body shifts, the breath will shift as well. By maintaining focus on our breath, we will immediately notice if we have lost our balance and focus by noticing shifts in breath or losing focus of breath.

Optimally, when you want to start doing work on breath technique, diaphragmatic breathing is best. If you don’t know what that is, it’s “belly breathing.” You want to breath from the stomach region expanding outward on the inbreath, and pulling the stomach back in on the outbreath. This breath stores prana better as it sends it to a region known as the Dan Tien, a storehouse of chi in the abdomen.

Entire books can be written on breath technique alone. There are many variations that activate certain energy channels and invoke certain bodily sensations or mindstates. For the sake of keeping this simple, focus on your natural breath and deepen it into a rhythmic belly breath.

Training the will

Another requirement to go deeper into meditation is being able to keep the will focused entirely on one activity, concept, or state of being. If one practices the breath mindfulness exercise, this will develop naturally over time. There are other ways of training the will though. The eyes seem very central to focus, so many focus exercises involve meditating with the eyes open.

One technique is to have an object that will become the center of your focus. Some refer to these as “totems.” It can be anything from a candle to a religious symbol. It can even just be a coin. It can honestly be anything you desire. The goal is to make this object your complete focus. I prefer the candle personally for this. Light a candle in a dark room so that it is the only source of light and thus much easier to maintain focus on. Meditate on the flame and keep your focus on the simple image of the flame gently swaying as it burns.

Objective Oriented Mediations

When one learns to enter a basic trance by relaxing and breathing with mindful focus, objective meditations may be established. These are meditations with a particular goal or objective to accomplish such as healing, balancing chakras, astral projecting, etc.

A technique which you may find useful is the Written Intention Technique. Whatever you want to focus on, learn more on, explore within your mind, attract or even to channel…. Write it down on a piece of paper and place it in front of you. Meditate with your eyes gently gazed downwards at what you have written. This serves as an anchor to bring your mind back to the intent of the meditation.

When the will has become sufficiently trained to focus, you will no longer need to write down intentions. The best mental process in training the will is repetition. Repeat your intention as often as possible in the mind and it will anchor it in. After it is set, you may let go and dissolve into that intention in a more free-flowing manner.

Imagination

Once an intention is set, it is good to actually flow with your imagination. There is actually a lot of power within our imagination. I hold the belief that our imagination is the context on how our higher self communicates with our physical mind. Use imagery which is powerful to you personally for healing, focus, or energizing. If the imagery is strong enough to evoke an emotional reaction, you will actually notice physical shifts because of it. Remember, all is illusion, and your imagination is a useful tool for redirecting the mind into a state which can heal. Use it in a positive manner.

Detachment

One of the factors in transcending into higher planes is detachment. The more you can detach from the dense physical forms of reality, the more the subtle and super-subtle levels of reality will be perceived.

Think of it this way, Do you think it would be easy to do Calculus on a treadmill? No, because the body needs to be still for the mind to begin critical thinking efficiently. The mind works in a similar fashion. There are dense physical thoughts of the conscious mind, and then there are the subtle thoughts of the dreaming mind or the unconscious mind. The more that the loud thoughts are quieted, the easier one can hear the subtle thoughts. This is one of the truths of meditation. It is actually quite hard to ever reach a completely quiet mind because there will always be subtle thoughts which can be heard once the conscious mind is quieted.

Even once one manages to silence the dreaming mind, the thoughts of the collective can be heard. Psychologist Carl Jung postulated this, and mystics like Edgar Cayce actually demonstrated this phenomenon. If one can enter deep enough into the mind, there is a point where all is connected and information flows freely between all minds. Detachment is key to getting there because what we cling to, we identify with. If one is to roam the realm of complete interconnected thought, you must refrain from thinking what you experience there came from you. It comes through you, and there is a big difference.

Infinite Possibilities

There is literally no end to what you can do within meditation. There is an entire micro-cosmos within you to explore. The more you become comfortable navigating, the more pathways and styles will open up to you. Daily practice is the best way to make progress. Even just 10 minutes a day makes huge progress. Best of luck in your journeys. Namaste~

Hypothesized functions of the pineal gland: A biological investigation into how the pineal body could be an organ for detecting higher frequency electromagnetic waves.

One thing that always made me wonder about the pineal gland, is the fact that it is literally an eye. The structures of the pineal body bear remarkable resemblance to the structures used for vision. This is particularly true for birds and reptiles. Their pineal gland literally contains a cornea and retina. It would seem as if they literally are seeing something with this eye. The parietal eye uses a different biochemical method of detecting light ( http://www.nature.com/neuro/journal/v1/n5/full/nn0998_359.html) . It isn’t traditional rod and cone cells which makes sense because the pineal gland isn’t trying to see the physical wavelength of visible light. It is trying to see a frequency that is past the ultraviolet range.

Below is an excerpt from ( http://www.nasa.gov/vision/earth/everydaylife/22oct_cataracts.html ) about how astronauts have commonly experienced radiation passing through their eyelids and seen visibly as light.

“Since then, astronauts aboard Skylab, the Shuttle, Mir, and the International Space Station have all reported seeing these flashes… What  the astronauts are experiencing is space radiation zipping through their eyes like subatomic bullets. When a "bullet" strikes the retina, it triggers a false signal that the brain interprets as a flash of light.”

Its known that radiation travels through many things because of its high vibration. So technically, if an eye evolved specialized for witnessing radiation particles, it would actually prefer to be burrowed deep, so that it is the only vibration of light that reaches it. The pineal gland actually exists at the exact geometric center of the brain, the singularity. The trace radiation gathered from the sun, moon, the stars, and all cosmic energies from space would be perceived here as extremely subtle lights to this gland.
But we do not “see” with this mind’s eye, do we? Some may, but the masses of people don’t. It has diminished in evolutionary capacity since it hasn’t been in use in the majority of population for thousands of years. Let us observe the path of other organisms in the journey of evolution to see more clues.
Since reptiles have a cornea and retina on their pineal gland, it brings much curiosity on the potential of the pineal. First we must examine the energy/chi dynamics between reptiles and mammals (particularly humans). Reptiles have stronger kundalini than humans do because they have tails. Humans primary draw kundalini from their emotional states, rather than physical body. The reptiles seek stronger external, physical sources of energy such as food, sunlight, etc. This process creates stronger physical body structure, but a diminished emotional range compared to humans. Where this is important is the fact that reptiles sunbathe. They need sunlight to survive much more than warm-blooded mammals. Due to many thousands of years being exposed to sunlight, the pineal gland was exposed to much more radiation from the sun. As it continued to receive stimuli, it evolved to have a retina and cornea to better observe the radiation signals it was receiving.
It comes down to a big question, what is it looking at?! There are no certain answers, only speculations. Going along with the hypothesis that consciousness energy was a wavelength of the higher spectrum, it could mean that it is “receiving intelligence” as our biological antenna for high frequency radiation and trace amounts of cosmic rays. Every star emits its own frequency, so it would almost be as if each star had its own “personality” of energy for the life evolving around the star system. This is why every single ancient civilization worshiped the sun. The sun is literally a portal of higher dimensions due to its enormous gravitational field and its high frequency radiation. The pineal gland could be the transducer of the bizarre language of these quantum particles excited by trace amounts of radiation from our Sun.

The official observed and only proven purpose of the pineal gland has to do with circadian rhythms. The irony is that this function is in perfect congruence with this hypothesis. The pineal body helps regulate a rhythm with the Sun to engage separate psychological processes; the awake, conscious listening process by day and the dreaming, compilation process at night. The pineal gland makes a bio-rhythmic clock synchronizing equal time to “listen” to the Sun, and compile at night.
One more bizarre sign from nature is from birds. Some species of birds also have a retina and cornea on their pineal gland. (http://youtu.be/fhE1BaoTpFI ) This video explains some of the findings of the probe we sent into the Van Allen’s radiation belt. “We simply are witnessing a temporal and spatial structure we never knew existed” said one of the scientists. Basically, there are quantum wormholes of microscopic portions opening and closing randomly up there. Listen to the frequency converted back into sound waves. It sounds a lot like birdsong, right? What if their pineal glands were literally seeing these frequencies and birds translate the frequencies to make “Earth song” into bird song. Before you underestimate birds, consider the fact that this precious life-form has a natural understanding of the laws of harmony and music itself. This structure of the universe must have been observed or taught to the organism somehow through its means of perception. Given how sensitive birds are to the electromagnetic field of the planet for navigation, it wouldn’t surprise me if they actually perceive more than what we think. Their perception of electromagnetic fields may be so precisely harmonized, that they can sense very subtle fields.
Nature observes nature. By observing the evolution of other species, we can see the dynamics of how certain biological functions work comparatively. Although the majority of this is a hypothesis, it is certainly something worth further investigation and experimentation.
What makes humans special compared to the reptiles and birds? Self-awareness and will power. By tunneling our focus and calming our mind, we can access the singularity of our mind and the pineal gland. In some cases, burst of emotion can create activity in the pineal. Psycho-actives make an easy, immediate, but sometimes dangerous shortcut too. Meditation is the safest key to awakening the pineal. Yoga speaks extensively on the marriage of Ida and Pingala creates strong activity in the pineal gland. Balancing the Day and Night of the mind opens the central channel of direct experience with the higher essence. This literally could be the point from which we receive higher intelligence in meditation, channeling, prayer, introspection etc. It really could be the source of our thoughts and consciousness just as Descartes thought.

Namaste and safe journeys to you all opening the beautiful third eye lotus~

Kundalini and the Brain

We know already the importance of the pineal gland and it’s role in higher consciousness. I want to address important dynamics of the surrounding areas of the brain and how they are important in meditation.

The pineal gland (unlabelled in this picture) is the pea sized organ in the direct center of the brain. I want you to notice what’s directly above the pineal gland; the motor cortex. This area is primarily concerned with movement. The area just below it, the amygdala, has to do a lot with basic emotions and especially a lot on our fear response. The hippocampus has a lot to do with appetite regulation and our physical and emotional cravings. The brain stem even further below that has to do a lot with our core survival needs.

Now let’s observe the torodial magnetic field of the brain. (excuse the sloppy photoshop as I couldn’t find any good images on the internet displaying this.)

Notice for there to be a clear channel from the bottom of the brain, past the pineal, and through the crown, energy must pass through these points. The odd coincidence is that meditation demonstrates the importance of stillness of the body. Spiritual practice also teaches removing fear from your consciousness. Steady and calm emotions are also integral to meditation, as is removal of primal urges. Do you see what is being drawn here? Mastery over these things literally creates a cleared electromagnetic channel going straight up and out of the brain. This is the Shushuma channel in kundalini.

Ida and Pingala are also important aspects of kundalini. Pingala being the active,  physical, masculine sun channel and Ida being the passive, emotional, feminine moon channel. Pingala is associated with physical activity, the muscular system of the body, and the sympathetic nervous system. Ida is associated with rest, digestion, the internal organs, and the parasympathetic nervous system. It appears that Pingala activates the area above the pineal and Ida activates the area below the pineal. One of the core preliminary practices to doing kundalini involves balancing Ida and Pingala so that energy may rise in Sushuma.

Another correlation here is that the “marriage of Ida and Pingala” takes place in the third eye. The pituitary is known to be a gland that control’s the balancing of the rest of the endocrine system. It’s no coincidence that Ajna literally translates to “Overseer.” Once Ida and Pingala come into balance, the toroid field awakens and circulates through the pineal gland. The pineal, which is associated with the crown chakra, bears an uncanny resemblance to the view of a torus from the top.

It's interesting because you can literally see the life fractal of phi ratio in action here. The heart is the singularity of our aura which surrounds our whole body. The pineal is the singularity of the mind-field which surrounds the brain. Electromagnetically it is much more subtle than the field emitted from the heart and thus requires finer tuning and is more subjective to quantum shifts than the heart's torus.

I'm still endlessly amazed how well our ancient ancestors knew our biology and how well it is displayed in yoga. There are many truths in yoga that have solid grounds for experimentation in science. Science will find some interesting discoveries by investigating this further. I'm sure our MRI equipment could handle experiments in this area correlating to people doing meditation and yoga versus those who don't as a control group. Until then, continue walking on your spiritual path. ~Namaste ~
